2019 Subaru Legacy

All-wheel drive and great safety ratings are the hallmark of Subaru,
and the 2019 Legacy offers these appealing traits as expected.
The well-equipped and comfortable mid-sized sedan boasts the most interior volume in its class and comes in five trim levels: the 2.5i, 2.5i Premium, 2.5i Sport, 2.5i Limited, and the 3.6R Limited, with the first part of each name indicating engine size. The 2.5-liter engine is rated by the EPA to get 34 highway mpg and 25 around town, while the 3.6-liter gets 28 highway and 20 city; all Legacy trims use the same Lineartronic continuously variable transmission. The Sport trim stands out with its enhanced appearance (a spoiler, larger wheels, two-tone seats with blue contrast stitching, and LED fog lamps), and the two Limited trims stack up additional amenities among their standard equipment.

Technology
The EyeSight Driver Assist package adds state-of-the-art active safety features, and the STARLINK system will automatically contact first responders when it detects a collision (for example, if an airbag is deployed). The system also integrates music and smartphone apps and other functions to manage communication and entertainment on the road; it's compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Pandora, SiriusXM, Magellan, and more. The base-level Legacy gets a 6.5-inch screen for STARLINK, while the higher trims get an 8-inch screen, with an upgrade available to add a navigation system. All Legacy trims but the base level have dual front and rear USB ports to keep devices charged. The top three trim levels come with keyless entry (with PIN access) and push-button start

Safety and Comfort
The impressive slate of active safety features on the Legacy starts with the EyeSight Driver Assist suite, which is highlighted by pre-collision automatic braking and adaptive cruise control. A rear-vision camera and vehicle dynamics control also come standard, and high beam assist and blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert are available. There is a full array of advanced airbags, and the standard STARLINK technology on every Legacy trim will call first responders automatically whenever an airbag is deployed. Subaru knows that its vehicles are especially appreciated in snowy areas, and so the automaker has added useful amenities for wintertime comfort. The All-Weather Package that comes standard on all but the base trim adds heated mirrors, windshield wiper de-icer, and heated front seats, but the two Limited trims also get heated rear seats, back row HVAC ducts, and leather-trimmed upholstery. The top four trims have dual climate control.
