If you drive through New England winters and want a wagon-style SUV that does not drain your wallet at the pump or the repair shop, this 2018 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium is worth a look. It has standard all-wheel drive and is rated at 26 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway. The price is $17,345, and it has 62,582 miles on it. That is a lot of capable, practical SUV for the money.

Cold mornings are easier with the All-Weather Package. It adds heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, and a windshield wiper de-icer. The 2.5L four-cylinder engine and Lineartronic CVT are a simple pairing that keeps fuel stops fewer. Our team has marked this Forester as having good brakes and good tires, and it passes state inspection. That means you can drive it home without planning a round of expensive upkeep.

Inside, the gray interior has front bucket seats, a power driver seat, automatic temperature control, and a power moonroof. The Subaru Starlink 7.0 Multimedia Plus System handles your audio, and SiriusXM and a CD player are included. A rear parking camera helps in tight lots. The split folding rear seat gives you room for bulky weekend errands, and the roof rack rails are ready for extra gear. The Venetian Red Pearl paint also looks great with the alloy wheels and rear spoiler.

Safety features are a big part of the value here. This Forester has dual front airbags, side impact airbags, a knee airbag, and overhead airbags. It also has electronic stability control, traction control, brake assist, and ABS. If you want to see it in person, call us at AutoFair Subaru at 978-797-1818. We can answer your questions and set up a test drive at a time that works for you.

      Best Model of Subaru

      by ZMAN1 on 11/7/2026 1:11:47 AM

I have owned several Subarus. My first was a 2006 Legacy. (Great car) Then 2 Outbacks. My wife had a 2013 Crosstrek. (Lots of issues) I admire the company's pholosophy. (especially charity conyributions) Forester seems like the best model for overall use. Plenty of cargo space, heavy duty roofrack; great features. Interior looks kind of cheap, especially considering purchase price. MPG is good. Ride is rough, Noisier than expected. (wind, tires, engine) Avoid CVT if possible.(forget towing) Handles well on rough terrain. Power is decent. Residual value and safety rating are highest in it's class. Parts and service are expensive.(offset by long term durability) Build quality could be better..but happy with ithe vehicle overall.…

      I like it

by Mark on 11/27/2025 4:22:54 PM

Bought my 2016 Forester new and got about $4k off the sticker price. I maintain it very well and do the work myself. I’ve had to replace the shift safety interlock mechanism at around 80k miles, due to occasionally being unable remove the key from the ignition; replaced rear wheel hub at 130k miles; replaced infotainment head (radio) at about 100k miles. Biggest disappointment is the mediocre a/c that doesn’t blow very cold when it is really hot outside. It’s a very easy car to work on and maintain. New cars today are way overpriced, and I dislike the over abundance of angst inducing “safety” features so I’m going to keep my Forester and swap out the engine and trans. with salvage yard replacements when my engine and trans. give up the ghost.…
